With only a few days to go, Ticketstroom was informed of one of the best kept secrets by the Spring Fiesta Organisers. Atjazz had landed in South Africa and he brought along Ross Hillard of Magic Number.
Online and print publications gathered at The Marcia Room at The Emperor’s Palace Convention Centre awaiting the arrival of Martin Atjazz commonly known as just Atjazz. Atjazz made his long awaited arrival, ushered in by his South African prodigy, Jullian Gomes. Much to excitement of the media as Atjazz is a legend of the industry. The producer/remixer has been in the house music scene for over 20 years and as a result touring Southern Africa as a celebration.
This media briefing was held to set alight what is considered as South Africa’s biggest music festival. It is a musical extravaganza presented by Soul Candi where various SA talent is showcased. The festival is scheduled for Saturday the 1st of October 2016 at the Wild Waters Complex in Boksburg.
The festival boasts 6 stages this year all providing a variety of genres,but all dominated by local talent. There is the main stage which will be headlined by the likes of Monique Bingham,Atjazz and Babes Wodumo just to mention a few. Then there are Metro FM DJs Lulo Café and Mo Flava will also host their own stages, called What About Soul and House Of Flava respectively. On those stages, there will be the likes of Rocco, N’Dinga Gaba, Fistaz Mixwell and Kuxx da Kruk performing across both these stages. Hip Hop will have their own stage hosted by Dj Naves and Dj Sphectacula and headlined by American Hip Hop Dj Supernova. The remaining two stages will be completed by the Rock da Shades stage hosted by the Rock da Shades Djz and the Power Play stage featuring all Dj search competition winners which was powered by Power Play.
At this point in time it’s all systems go for the 2016 Spring Fiesta. The press conference facilitated by Dj Warras gave all sponsors an opportunity to highlight their offerings for this year’s event. Premium brand Smirnoff aims to unite people through music. Smirnoff will thus use this opportunity to roll out their new range of drinks called Smirnoff electric which comes in three exciting flavours. Power Play is aiming to grow the South African party and music scene, hence their involvement in the Spring Fiesta Generation Next Dj search. And lastly popular beer brand, Heineken will also be returning as partner for the second year in a row.
From the media side of things, the festival has Metro FM as media partner helping promote and communicate all Spring Fiesta related news with the masses across South Africa. Furthermore, all fans traveling from out of SA will be offered world class accommodation by Emperor’s Palace.
Then on came some of the headlining artists to the podium and Dj Warras gave them the opportunity to tell their fans what to expect. The artists all made big promises to their fans and urged them to make their way to the event. First was Monique Bingham, who promised a very soulful and very personal performance on Saturday. While the other hand Atjazz and Ross promised people a great jamming session, where they’ll play 100% Atjazz music while also putting spins on old classics.
Saturday promises to be an epic event and patrons can brace themselves for some memorable experiences. Event director and Soul Candi boss, Ricardo Da Costa made a promise to deliver top class audio and visual production at the event on Saturday.
