A deep house movement called The Jamshack 1520 which started random deep house listening sessions in Daveyton has suddenly taken the east of Gauteng by storm. For over a year now, the last Sunday of the month has been characterized by these sessions, where the open minded music lovers of Daveyton come together to chill and enjoy delicious food while listening to some deep house.

South African townships have been taken by storm with a new phenomenon of township style street food markets. These are the places where township business people in the culinary space, set pop up stalls showcasing some of their creative dishes – different dishes from the ones we have been accustomed to.

After a year of doing the basic “plug n play” set up of deep house sessions, The Jamshack crew has decided to introduce what they call The Jamshack Food Lovers Session. The #JSFoodLoversSession is a monthly event that takes place at new shisa nyama joint, Butcher 2.0 located at the iconic Lido stores in Daveyton. This event is a culmination of deep house, food, cocktails and beer, however they are looking for people with great innovative culinary presentations to add flair to the event and experience.

Without straying away from their main selling point, The Jamshack crew has maintained a strict music policy and stuck to their catch phrase which is “The Music Stays Winning.” For their next event happening on Sunday, The Jamshack has put together a lineup that will deliver soulful as well as deep cuts to the patrons. The Dj lineup has Viktor Daniel, Gift Da Guru and Yorubacoustic as guest deejays and the two regular residents, KenP and Manoeva.

Ticketstroom last attended a Jamshack session back in December of 2015 and back then the sessions were still held in the backyards of residential property. Over the year the sessions have grew and are now occupying Butcher 2.0, which gives the sessions a proper street vibe atmosphere. This time around Ticketstroom will return as official media partner for The Jamshack.

The Ticketstroom blog team will attending the #JSFoodLoversSession and is truly excited to be part of the event. Entrance is free, which means you can spend more money on the food.
