Back To The City in association with Channel O did it again, the 11th annual festival brought fire on Freedom Day at Mary Fitzgerald Square, Johannesburg. The biggest hip hop gathering in South Africa brought 3 international acts to 80 locals acts, the festival also had MC battle live on stage. The event was hosted by Chazz Le Hippi and Big Dreamz.

The international acts from United States of America were Cappadonna, Apollo Brown and Skyzoo, they brought the American heat wave to their sets. The fans were intrigued and hype when the festival did more than calling top acts in the country, it had also featured two musical legends on stage Zola 7 and Hymphatic Thabs.

The line-up was hectic from Stogie T calling up Emtee on stage, to Priddy Ugly bringing out Young CPT. Cassper Nyovest performed a new song “Top Shayela” from his long-anticipated album Thuto. Ambitious Entertainment army came in full force with S’java bringing out Saudi and Citi Lyts. The stage was graced with South Africa’s best DJ’s from prestigious names Ms Cosmo, Switch, Zan D, Slique and more.

A variety of stalls were instilled for all the fashionistas including an oxygen bar, clothing stalls and a spray on tattoo parlour. #BTTC2017 represented the Hip Hop culture as it brought everything in Hip Hop in one space from graffiti artists painting with sprays, a designated skate area, basketball, and more games.
